volunter 01c At Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre our volunteers are truly exceptional people who take time out of their busy lives to help others. Volunteers provide many services which help, patients, visitors and staff such as greeting and directing visitors at the Information & Admitting Desks; delivering flowers to patient's rooms, transporting patients to from physiotherapy or keeping a small child company.

How do the Volunteers contribute at TBRHSC?

 

Volunteer Association

Patient Care:

Friendly Visiting, Gift Cart, Surgical Day Care, Paediatrics, Rehab Transport, Cardiac Rehab, the Good Night Program, Patient Clothing Cupboard, Pre-Admission, Endo Charts, Telephone.

 

Volunteer Association

Non-Patient Care:

Courier, ICU Waiting Room Ambassadors, Information Desk, Medical Library, Library Cart, Historian.

Volunteer Association

Fundraising:

Seasons Gift Shop, Nevada/Lottery Tickets, Craft Group, Knitters, Quilters, Special Fundraising Events, Marathon Bridge.

 

Interested in Volunteering at Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre?


To become a Volunteer at Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre, you must be in good health, be at least 16 years of age or older, be willing to commit for a minimum of 3 months*, submit two references [employer & character], comply with Public Health Act TB 2-step testing. We cannot not accept short-term assignments.

We have had an overwhelming response for our Summer Volunteer Program. We will be accepting applications for Fall 2010.

Youth Volunteers


volunteer 01bA summer youth program runs every summer. You must be 16 years of age or older to apply. Students who have successfully completed the summer program who wish to continue in the fall and winter may continue based on the availability of positions available. We cannot accept short-term assignments. A minimum of 50 hours of satisfactory service is required before a letter of recommendation can be requested.
