Patients with mobility issues can now exercise their arms, wrists and shoulders while in bed instead of having to be moved to the gym in the Physiotherapy Department. A new, mobile arm ergometer unit, purchased through a Volunteer Association/Health Sciences Foundation Family CARE grant, is easily transported to a patient’s bedside for required cardiovascular strengthening and conditioning, increasing accessibility for these patients.
The Nutrition and Food Service team works collaboratively to ensure food is of high quality, nutritious and safe as well as compliant to prescribed diet orders.
Patient meals and snacks are prepared fresh by certified cooks and trained staff, using the cook/chill method.

Each unit is equipped with a pantry kitchenette, stocked with items for patient consumption.
Meals are based on a menu cycle. If you have food preferences or allergies please inform your primary care provider, nurse, or dietitian. The Nutrition and Food Service Department is pleased to offer Expressly For You, a room service program where patients are able to place their meal orders through a Host/Hostess using iPad technology.
