Parking at TBRHSC
Paperless Parking New
Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre has chosen a green technology.
We’ve introduced a brand new car parking system to replace thousands of wasted paper tickets with new environmentally-friendly ChipCoin tokens.
How To Use The New Parking System
- Park your car and keep your entry token with you.
- Before returning to your car, go to the Pay Station and insert your entry token.
- Pay fee indicated and retain your validated token.
- Return to your car without delay.
- At exit gate, insert validated token to raise the gate and exit parking.
Up to two hours: $4
Up to four hours: $5
Over four hours until midnight, same day (daily maximum): $7
After midnight, the parking rate will restart.
Family and visitors also have the option of purchasing an unrestricted daily ($7.00), weekly ($28.00) or monthly ($53.00) pass from the Patient Billing office located in the Main Entrance near Admitting.
Please Note: Lot C-1, directly across from the Emergency Department entrance, is an individual meter lot, not a “Pay and Display” parking lot. Lot A-3, the small lot next to the Medical Building and across from the Cancer Centre is a “Pay & Display” parking lot.
All lots are monitored by security camera 24 hours per day, and are also patrolled by Security on a periodic basis. TBRHSC takes all precautions to provide a safe environment, including full lighting to the parking lots, access walkways, and well marked Emergency Help buttons throughout the site. Should you encounter difficulties entering or exiting a parking lot, you have access to an intercom at all terminals, which will connect you to Security for assistance.
What is Parking Revenue used for?
The costs associated with parking lots are not covered by government funding. The Hospital uses parking fees collected to cover the cost of providing, maintaining, and administering the parking facilities (such as lighting, asphalt maintenance, line painting, and snow removal) and to support operational costs related to patient care.
